Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a coffee shop?
Nope! We are a coffee roasting company, which means we bring in green coffee beans from around the world and transform them into the sweet-smelling coffee beans we all love. You can order coffee on this website or find us on the shelves at LaLonde's Market in Midland, and Pat's Food Center in Freeland. You can also visit Live Oak Coffeehouse in Midland, where they serve our coffee and sell it by the bag.
Are you open to the public?
Currently we are not open to the public during normal business hours. But we love our community and love making new friends! Periodically, we open our doors for public tours, coffee tastings, and other events. If you want to stay updated on these happenings, click here to join our mailing list.
How does local pickup work?
Paying for shipping is a bummer—especially if it's just being shipped a couple miles down the road. To avoid those extra costs, just select "Local Pickup" as the shipping option at checkout. You'll get an email when your coffee is ready, then just swing by and pick it up at:
1001 E Carpenter St.
Midland, MI 48640
I don't have a coffee grinder...can I still buy beans?
Of course! We understand that not everyone grinds their coffee at home, so we're more than happy to do that for you. But here's a free tip: Coffee stays fresher when you buy whole beans and grind them just before brewing. Visit our Shop page, where you can find a grinder and all other home brewing equipment.
What is "specialty coffee" and what makes it special?
"Specialty coffee" refers to the highest-quality coffee beans in the world. Out of all the coffee produced on this planet, less than 10% is considered specialty grade. When roasted with care, specialty coffee can provide an experience that's quite different from what the average American drinks.
If you want to learn more about the world of specialty coffee, there are great resources like SCAA, Sprudge, and Daily Coffee News. You can read about it all you want...but in the end, tasting is believing.
