Create Great Coffee: Basics

One of the beautiful challenges of coffee is how interesting and complex it can be. With this guide, we'll break down and simplify some of those complexities to give a few basic rules to follow to have great coffee at home.

1. Use freshly roasted Heirloom Coffee and grind as close to brewing as possible.


2. Brew with filtered water at 200°–205° F.


3. Brew with a water:coffee ratio of 15:1 to 17:1 making adjustments to taste. E.g. for every 15g of water, use 1g of coffee. 400g of water will yield about a 12oz cup of coffee.


4. Store your coffee in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place
